When I began writing organ music in earnest, I decided to compose some

“practical” pieces that were not difficult to play and that did not require the

resources of a large pipe organ. These “Voluntaries” can be played with or

without pedal and can be used as preludes or postludes or as meditative pieces to fill quiet liturgical spaces when desired. There is quite an informative article here that explains the genre of voluntary in classical organ music. And while some of the following pieces may not exactly fit the criteria, the music itself could be quite useful.
