In 1994, poet Judith Lyn Sutton invited me to think about composing music to accompany her lyrical poetry. Over the course of the next twelve years, we ended up collaborating on some 25 numbers for solo vocal and piano. Each presents a unique challenge vocally as well as pianistically, but these songs are also very accessible and thought-provoking. Think “art song.”
